The Wild Phern has expanded service areas in the last two years to include more of the MidWest states, and these engagement poses were from a photoshoot in Crystal Lake, Illinois. From the moment we started, it was all about keeping things light and easy. I kicked things off with some candid shots. It’s such a great way to get couples to relax and just be themselves. Watching Jocelyn and Noah interact, the way they laughed and shared little looks — it was pure joy! Plus, they brought their adorable dog along, which totally amped up the cuteness factor. We let the pup run around a bit while I grabbed those genuine moments. Nothing feels more real than a couple and their fur baby just having fun together.
Once they warmed up to the camera —
and trust me, they did — we transitioned into a few more formal engagement poses. But even then, it was all about direction and movement. I guided them to turn, lean in close, and keep the flow going, so everything felt natural and alive. Talk about playful! Both Jocelyn and Noah were up for anything. At one point, I suggested they roll around on the ground, and they totally went for it without missing a beat! Watching them just enjoy their time together, even when things got a bit goofy, was a reminder of why I love capturing these moments so much.
Every shot was a blend of real colors and authentic emotions, showcasing who they are as a couple. Whether they were embracing, goofing off or laughing at their dog’s antics, each click of the shutter caught that carefree spirit they radiated. It’s all about the magic of the moment, moving together in a way that feels organic and true to them. I think we really nailed it. Isn’t it awesome how embracing spontaneity can lead to the best photos? I can’t wait for you to see these engagement poses for photos. They’re so full of life and love!
