If you ask me, the best Engagement Sessions are the ones that embrace creativity and showcase a couple’s unique relationship. You don’t need to dress formally or pose perfectly, you just need to be yourself and cut loose with your partner! In Anna and Nate’s recent Engagement Session, they did just that, and the photos couldn’t have turned out more special!
Photographing Anna and Nate was truly a blast! I could feel how much they trusted me as their photographer, which makes such a massive difference in any session. They were so relaxed, not only with me, but also with each other.
One of my biggest tips for getting good photos with your significant other is to be comfortable! You don’t need to have a full face of makeup, a tux, or any other formal attire that doesn’t feel like “you”. An Engagement Session should portray your relationship in its authentic beauty! So, I encourage any couple to be comfortable in what you choose to wear and how you style your hair and makeup. Take a deep breath, it’s most important that you relax and have FUN as a couple, not just pose for photos!
But back to Anna and Nate: we captured their Engagement Session at Rosy Mound, one of our many captivating landscapes here in Grand Haven, Michigan. Rosy Mound has lush dunes, vibrant forests, and a pristine shoreline along Lake Michigan’s coast. It’s a flawless location for an Engagement Session!
The beautiful scenery of Anna and Nate’s session was made even BETTER by the way they embraced wild ideas! They were game to hike two miles with me to find the best backdrops. They were even willing to get in the water for some truly epic shots! Why have traditional Engagement Photos when you can jump in the water like a scene from the Notebook instead?
I was so grateful to Anna and Nate for trusting me with their Engagement photos. It was a dream to capture the unique beauty of their relationship!
If you’re tying the knot soon & searching for a photographer: shoot me a message! I’d love to capture the vibrant beauty of your love story!
