The Goldis picked the perfect Grand Rapids, Michigan venue to get married in. New Vintage Place, as you’ll see, is extremely versatile and is a great space for warm, clean photos. The space is large enough to have both ceremony, reception, and cocktail hour spaces set up. Not to mention the bride and groom getting ready suites!
Although Kira and Matt picked a December date, they really lucked out with weather. It’s common for Michiganders to get whiplash from the unpredictable weather. On their wedding day, we were able to take photos around the Grand Rapids area with above-freezing temperatures. My second photographer and I were both in only jackets! The bride & bridesmaids all rocked a cozy throw for some of the photos.
The most memorable part for me was on top of the parking garage as we were taking full wedding party group photos. The ground was a bit damp and Kira was a little reluctant on setting her train down on it, especially since the ceremony hadn’t happened yet. It was a split-second decision for me – I took my jean jacket right off and placed it on the ground. I carefully put her train on it, and we went on with the group photos. I wore a sleeveless turtleneck top underneath that jacket, so to say that I was cold is totally an understatement. Anything for my couples!!!
Kira glowed in her all gold jewelry alongside the clean, all black suit of Matt’s. That shade of green??? TO DIE FOR. New Vintage place perfectly complemented these colors. I’m obsessed with it because it reminds me of the House of Slytherin with the venue having big Harry Potter vibes.
My favorite parts about the Goldis getting married in this Michigan venue are the TALL ceilings that accent the HUGE windows, and the big wall that’s painted black! I just HAD to steal the bride and groom from their reception to get some artsy fartsy direct-flash images with that wall. I loved the contrast my flash added to it. They turned out so clean and editorial.
