Kelsey & Brandon chose a lovely day for their wedding celebration in Holland, Michigan at a venue called Port 393. They opted for their ceremony to be a short drive away at Second Reformed Church in Zeeland. Kelsey and Brandon did their first look on the venue’s rooftop patio and exchanged private vows. Kelsey also really wanted a first look moment with both her dad and grandpa. These came to be my personal favorite moments of the day.
Kelsey shared some of her wedding ideas with me during the engagement session and it just lit up my soul. My favorite details are the mismatched floral bridesmaids dresses paired with flower baskets! I just LOVE all the texture this wedding had to offer.
As I’ve mentioned, Kelsey picked lots of great texture for her details. I’m sure you can predict that she decorated Port 393 really well and chose decor that balanced the venue’s natural industrial look. She scattered shades of pink throughout along with touches of texture. It all looks cohesive with Port 393’s aesthetic.
After I completed photographing details, I headed down to meet the guys for their photos. My time with the groom and groomsmen was the most efficient. I was impressed with how well they all followed my directions without question. The guys were clean cut, wearing classic black suits with ties – a great pair with all the textures of the bridesmaids dresses! Brandon rocked out a black tux paired with a bow tie.
Their ceremony at Second Reformed Church was short, sweet, and above all, full of love. The space not only has great natural light filtering in, but it also has a balcony that allowed access. At the end of the ceremony, guests blew bubbles as the couple exited the church together. A party bus awaited the couple and their parties.
Shortly after their grand entrance, Kelsey and Brandon danced for the first time as a married couple, and then cut their cake right after. I’ll never forget everyone laughing during the shoe game, toasts, and a speech by grandpa after the anniversary dance. I’m still chuckling to myself!
I wish I can just share the entire gallery here. I feel like I’ve already shared too much! Last but definitely not least, we obviously snuck away during the reception to catch that golden hour light. First, we needed to find a sober friend to drive us down the road. Someone from the bridal party kindly offered and we all squished into their car. Kelsey in the front seat with me, Chris (the videographer), and Brandon in the back.
