I got to work with these two for their couples session in Grand Rapids and wanted to share some of the posing ideas I used! I’ve been working with Guadalupe and Mario for a few years now, documenting their family, and I was so thrilled they wanted to do a shoot just for the two of them.
These two just went all out when it came to letting me do my thing during their shoot. I mean, they gave me creative freedom and it was such a blast! Just imagine: I’m throwing out these quirky walking prompts while they strolled through Provin Trails, just having a good time, totally in their element. They embraced the weirdness, and it made for some of the most genuine, joyful moments that captured their relationship perfectly.
One of my favorite things was when I suggested they just lay down on the ground. Yep, right there in the grass! Most people might give you a weird look, but they went for it without a second thought. The way they interacted as they got comfortable made for some incredible candid shots. You can just feel the joy in those images. That’s always what I aim for—capturing movement and direction in a playful way. Each shot tells a little story, and it’s all thanks to the trust they put in me to bring those ideas to life.
I was blown away by how everything came together. They were not just photographs but tangible moments of genuine connection and FUN. It’s inspiring when couples are open to adventurous posing because it really opens the door to something unique. These moments are what make it all worth it: the laughter, the spontaneity, and the magical connection between two people. Can’t wait to share these images—they’re simply to die for!
