This new gallery is exceptionally special to me. For one, this Michigan Photographer was able to pack up her gear and capture a session in beautiful North Carolina. As if that wasn’t exciting enough, the couple in front of my lens included my lovely cousin, Sarah! This couple’s session was such a sweet celebration of love and family. 

 

 

A little background…

 

Life has a funny way of keeping us busy, and sometimes we lose touch with the people we love. My cousin, Sarah, and I used to make it a point to see each other once or twice a year. We’d spend whole days catching up and making memories. But then, life happened. I was falling in love and building my photography business, while Sarah was moving out of state, establishing her career, and meeting her own special someone, Victor.

 

After a couple of years, we finally found a range of dates that worked for both us. My family and I were excited to visit Sarah and Victor in North Carolina. They were, of course, the best hosts, showing us around their beautiful city. As a thank you, I offered them what I do best: a photoshoot!

 

 

A closer look at this North Carolina Couple’s Session…

 

We took advantage of North Carolina’s stunning scenery, from the mountains to the beach! We started in the gorgeous Sugar Mountain area. The rivers, rocks, and mountain views created incredible backdrops everywhere we turned. 

 

 

Next, we headed to Wilmington Beach for some fun beach shots. The sandy shores, classic pier, and rolling waves made for a perfect setting. Though, we did have to tell my daughter, Emma, that it was Myrtle Beach because she was so excited to go there … sorry, if you see this when you're older, Em! 

 

 

Sarah and Victor’s love is something special. Almost as soon as they met, they felt love at first sight. They moved in together in less than a year, and now they’re happily married. As I photographed them, I could see their genuine joy and connection, and it was beyond heartwarming.

“Phern will climb high and low, and even walk to the edge of the earth for you (literally - during our photo shoot, she was up in a tree, down in the sand, and one more step backwards she might have fallen down the cliff of a waterfall!)

 

She brought out the true emotions of our love in the moment and captured them beautifully in photos we can tangibly hang onto. The day we had with Phern was full of laughter and smiles. She plays games to help us get lost in the moment and to make posing more comfortable than I could have imagined.
