Wedding at The Rutledge: A Michigan Venue

Lindsi & Taylor got married at a Michigan wedding venue called The Rutledge. This venue is found downtown Grand Rapids. Lindsi’s tasteful attention to detail complemented the versatility of this venue quite well. I had lots of fun documenting this day and preserving their wedding in photographs.

I’ve photographed a wedding at the Rutledge venue in Grand Rapids, Michigan before, so I knew what I was looking forward to. What I didn’t know was how aesthetically pleasing their bathrooms were – ha! When I walked in, my eyes got big. Like, huge. I was lucky enough that Lindsi & Taylor were all in with me on my idea to do some portraits in the bathroom. It gave moody vibes and I was there for it.

I was also lucky enough to get included in their timeline planning. So, we got to make sure to capture all the details most important to them! My favorite part of this day was definitely the photos on top of the parking garage, and then wandering around Grand Rapids photographing Lindsi and Taylor. Playing with all of the detail items is for sure a close second!

Lindsi found me on The Knot a few years ago if I remember correctly. I met them for the first time at Rockwell Republic for brunch before they officially booked with me for their wedding. I wish I could recall the content of our conversation, but I do remember feeling comfortable. When they told me they decided to hire me, I was PUMPED. We definitely scheduled their engagement session right away!
