And make it Harley Davidson themed
I’ve got to share these amazing couples photos in Holland I did recently with my friends Hannah and Justin. They wanted something that really celebrated their love for riding, so I recommended this spot in West Michigan knowing it was going to compliment their vision perfectly. From the moment they rolled up on that stunning Harley Davidson in their kick-ass gear, I knew it was going to be something pretty epic. I mean, what’s not to love about a motorcycle and golden hour?
I’ve been a photographer in Michigan for over a decade now, but this was my first time working a full session with a motorcycle. That being said, I really wanted to push the envelope on the poses. So, I got a little wild and suggested something super out-of-the-box: how about Hannah standing on the seat while Justin steadied the bike for her? It was a bit risky, but they were totally game for anything! I even got to play with the trendy “motion blur” images! I loved how enthusiastic they were, executing every single direction with zero complaints. It was windier than what we all wanted, but their laughter and connection made every click of the shutter feel authentic and full of life. These couples photos in this Holland, MI location seriously made my favorites forever.
As we moved through the session,
Michigan delivered some beautiful skies during golden hour, melting into that dreamy blue hour with drool-worthy shades of pinks and purples. Seriously unreal! Capturing Hannah and Justin in those moments felt like their love story was unfolding in real time. The way they naturally interacted, the playful glances, and the little bursts of laughter made the whole shoot feel effortless. It’s these candid moments, coupled with my direction to include movement in posing, that showcase the essence of who they are as a couple.
I love photographing my friends because it just adds a level of intimacy that allows me to explore my creativity. To me, it feels like there’s no pressure. This gallery and these photos were truly FUN to shoot and put together. I love it even more that they included something in it that encompass who they are as a couple. I definitely try to do that with all the people I get to photograph!
